Blew $60 on a deluxe version of a game that had a rulebook full of holes

Opened the box expecting hours of fun and instead spent an hour on BGG trying to figure out what the designer actually meant, has anyone else had a bad run with overpriced kickstarter editions?

Used to think paying extra for the 'deluxe' was always worth it. But after one too many Kickstarters where the rulebook felt like it was written in a different language, I totally get the frustration. It's a gamble for sure.
