Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion fell apart on us mid-scenario and everyone wanted to quit

Has anyone else had a brand new legacy game fall apart like that on the first play and you just had to power through the mess?

Isn't it weird how stuff that's supposed to hold together just... doesn't sometimes? Had a similar thing happen with a new board game where the box was already splitting at the seams before we even opened it. Makes you wonder if companies are cutting corners on quality control just to keep prices low. Feels like nothing's built to last anymore, even the fun stuff.

Had three different card games last year where the corners were already frayed right in the shrink wrap. Just sucks paying full price for something that's basically broken before you even start.

Oh man, that's rough! A buddy of mine bought the exact same game and the map tiles were already peeling on day one, like they forgot to glue them properly. He just taped everything back together mid-game and swore he'd never touch it again. Makes you wonder if they even test these things before shipping them out.
