Good week at the game store: 7 new players learned Catan
Last Thursday at Dragon's Lair in Austin I taught Catan to a group of 7 new people. Three of them stayed for 4 hours playing different games. Has anyone else had a night where everything just clicked?

My last hardcore Catan session was at Emerald Tavern in Austin and it was a total disaster. I had 4 people who just could not wrap their heads around the robber mechanic, kept arguing about whether they could trade resources after rolling a 7, and one guy literally rage quit because someone stole his only ore. Four hours of teaching and they still didn't understand basic strategy.
