My friend's board game group keeps calling themselves 'geeks' but they only play Monopoly and Uno.

I finally told them that a real board game geek, like the folks in our Wednesday night Gloomhaven campaign, would at least know the difference between a roll-and-move and a worker placement game.

Isn't it weird how people do this with everything now? It's like there's this need to prove you're a "real fan" or did it "the right way" first. I see it all the time with music, games, even what coffee you drink. It just makes things less fun for everyone.
