My switch to app scoring ended math disputes but split our game group

I solved constant score arguments by using a phone app, though some players say it ruins the traditional board game experience.

Try adding a small whiteboard for public tracking too. It gives the old-school folks something tangible while keeping everyone on the same page visually.

Switched to an app for scoring in our Catan games a few years back. Yeah, it definitely caused some grumbling from the folks who loved passing around the score pad. But honestly, the trade-off was worth it because the fights about who forgot to add the wheat stopped completely. We kept the app but also made a rule that the host provides a notebook for anyone who wants to track things the old way, which helped smooth things over.

Buddy of mine had his tablet die mid-game, chaos ensued.
