Pro tip: Use playing card dividers to keep your board game organizers from shifting

I kept getting frustrated with my Terraforming Mars box. The insert I bought has these little dividers for the cubes and tokens, but they always slide around when I close the lid. I grabbed some cheap plastic playing cards from a dollar store in Portland and cut them down to fit as spacers. Now everything stays put and my setup time dropped from 15 minutes to like 5. Has anyone else found a weird household item that fixes a board game storage problem?

Did the felt pads hold up over time or start peeling after a few months?

I used the sticky-back felt pads on my board game boxes about 8 months ago. They held up fine for the first 3 months, but after that the edges started curling up on a few of them. The ones on my more used games like Catan wore out quicker because of sliding in and out of the shelf. I switched to cutting up a cheap rubber shelf liner instead. That stuff doesn't peel at all and creates way more grip. The felt was easier to cut to size, but the liner lasts longer for me.

Have you tried using adhesive felt pads or those little rubber drawer liner sheets cut to size? I read a tip on a board game forum about using leftover shelf liner material to create friction between organizers, and it worked surprisingly well for my bulky Arkham Horror box. That way you don't have to worry about cutting cards or losing spacers over time.
