Shoutout to the guy at the Columbus game night who said stop teaching new players with Catan
Every new person at our Tuesday group got Catan for their first game for two years straight. Then a guy named Dale at a meetup in Columbus said to swap it for Ticket to Ride and see what happens. Tried it with four new folks last month and all four came back the next week asking to play again. Turns out Catan dragging past 90 minutes was killing the mood, not the game itself. Anyone got a better first game for total newbies than TTR?
