Switched from board game meetups to a weekly gaming group at a brewery

I used to hit up the library meetups every Saturday but got tired of the awkward silence. Six months ago I found a crew that meets at Urban Farmhouse Brewing on Tuesdays and it's way more chill with better banter. Has anyone else found a non-traditional spot that just clicks better?

Quiet focus over loud laughs" oh man, I'd frame that if my apartment wasn't already covered in cat hair. But yeah, nothing says strategic planning like dodging a wet circle on the table from someone's pint.

I dunno man, I tried the brewery thing once and spent half the night yelling over a hazy IPA while trying to teach someone Carcassonne. The library's got better lighting, cheaper snacks, and you can actually hear the person across from you. Call me old school but I'll take quiet focus over loud laughs any day.

Quiet focus over loud laughs" - oh man, that's the kind of line I'd put on a t-shirt (if I ever left the house to wear t-shirts, which I don't). But seriously, you're not wrong about the library thing. I tried the brewery board game night once and spent twenty minutes explaining the rules of Ticket to Ride to someone who kept getting distracted by the trivia on the TV. Plus, have you ever tried to strategically win a game when someone's IPA is dripping condensation all over the score sheet? It's like playing in a flood zone. Libraries are the real MVPs for tabletop gaming (and nobody judges you for quietly eating a granola bar).
