The bag clip mistake that made me pack up my Catan pieces wrong for 6 years

I always kept my Catan resource cards in those little plastic baggies, but I was stuffing all 5 colors into one bag and fumbling through them every setup. Last week at a game night in Portland, someone saw me do it and said 'why don't you just sort them by number and use three bags like the rulebook shows?' I looked at the insert tray and realized the slots were sized for 2 decks each, not one giant pile. Now my setup takes like 90 seconds instead of 5 minutes, has anyone else been misusing the game insert trays this whole time?
