Blown tube sheet gasket on a 300hp boiler at 2am, had to cut it out cold
The rear tube sheet gasket let go on the second shift unit down at the paper mill and steam started rolling out of the casing before we could trip the burner. Got it shut down and spent the next four hours chipping out the old gasket by hand because the torch was locked up in the tool crib, anyone got a better method for cutting one of these out without warping the sheet?
