Changed my tune on those cheap magnetic levels after a bad morning in Gary

I used to swear by the expensive machinist levels until one slipped off a beam in Gary and shattered on the concrete below, leaving me eyeballing a flange seam for 20 minutes. Swapped to a $15 magnetic torpedo level that same day and honestly, it stuck better and got the job done, so who's really the fool here? Anyone else had cheap tools outlast the fancy ones when it counts?

Man, my buddy swore by a $200 digital level till his dog knocked it in a creek... now he uses the harbor freight one that still works.

Yall ever tested a level after it takes a dunk? Accuracy usually floats away first.
