Dropped a 50lb plate on my foot last week on a job in Gary

Was fitting a boiler feed tank and my co-worker let go of one side while we were carrying it. Landed right on my steel toe and bent the cap in. Took me 20 minutes to pry it off my boot afterwards. Anyone have a brand of boot they swear by for crush protection?

Have you tried looking into boots with a composite toe instead? @taylorellis mentioned a similar incident in another thread, and someone there said composite can handle drops better than steel sometimes without bending.

Bent the cap in" - that's rough, I had a coworker once who dropped a wrench on his foot and it somehow hit the exact same spot three times in one week.

Sounds like your coworker needs to stay away from that corner of the shop for a while. Or maybe invest in some steel-toed boots that double as good luck charms.
