Had to choose between a full tube sheet replacement or a major patch job on a 1970s boiler in Toledo last spring.
We went with the patch to keep the plant running, but now I'm hearing a low rumble and wondering if we just kicked a $50k can down the road, so what would you have done?

Ugh, that rumble is the WORST sound. We did the same patch on an old unit in Akron and it bought us like, eight months before the whole thing let go. Total nightmare.

Eight months sounds like a long con by the air conditioner. It lets you relax just long enough to forget the sound before it all falls apart.
