Hit 500 tube ends rolled in one turnaround and it snuck up on me
Was working a 6 week turnaround at a plant outside Baton Rouge and just kept rolling, didn't count anything until my helper added up the logs on day 11 and said we passed 500. I figured we were maybe at 300, so that number made me step back and think about how much faster my hands have gotten since my first job at 19. Anybody else lose track of stuff like that and get surprised when the count comes back at you?
Kept a tally on the inside of my hard hat with a paint pen after that happened to me once. Sounds dumb but by day 3 I stopped trying to remember and just marked it, then we'd add it up at break. Wound up hitting numbers I never would've guessed too, the repetition just turns your brain off.
