Book club hit a wall over the dog's fate in that thriller
Last Tuesday in Minneapolis, half the group wanted the dog to live and the other half said the plot needed the loss. We spent 40 minutes debating fictional animal trauma and nobody could agree on the author's intent. I finally pulled up the author's old interview where she said the dog was always meant to survive but the editor cut it. Anyone else have a book club where one scene nearly split the group in two?
