Caught myself skimming chapters for 5 months of meetings
I kept zoning out during the discussion and realized I was just reading the last 10 pages of each book, then last Thursday someone asked about a minor character's motive and I had ZERO clue they even existed. Has anyone else faked their way through a book club only to get caught by a tiny detail?

Honestly, I used to be the one stressing out about every little thing for book club too, like I was prepping for a job interview or something. But you're right, it's supposed to be fun and about hanging out, not about getting every question perfect. Once I just started showing up without overthinking it, I actually enjoyed the meetings way more. It's wild how much pressure we put on ourselves for no real reason, isn't it?
