Shoutout to the person who pointed out I've read 47 books this year without finishing a single one

I'm torn between thinking this shows a healthy willingness to drop boring books and feeling like it's a complete failure of follow-through, so what's the verdict: is a high DNF count a red flag or a sign of good taste?

Honestly, that just sounds like starting 47 books. DNF means you actually decided to stop, not just put it down.

Define "decided to stop" for me.

Starting 47 books" is the key part. My own shelf is a graveyard of good intentions, so I get it. It's only a red flag if you feel bad about it, otherwise you're just sampling the menu.
