That $60 audiobook on tapeworm diets was a wild book club pick
Our club in Tulsa voted for a wellness memoir last month and one member spent $60 on the hardcover because she wanted to annotate it, then the author's whole tapeworm cleanse chapter turned out to be fake. She got so worked up during the debate that she threw the book across my porch and now we're all arguing about whether fact-checking is our job or the publisher's. Has anyone else had a pricey book club selection that ended up being a total scam, or are we just too trusting?
