That moment I realized I was leading book club discussions all wrong

I spent two years guiding every meeting like a college seminar, asking about themes and symbols and author intent. Then during our discussion of 'Project Hail Mary,' a member said 'Can we just talk about whether Rocky would actually be friends with a human?' and the whole room lit up in a way it never had before. Anyone have a moment where a member made you rethink how you run your group?

Funny how we overthink stuff like that, isn't it? We get so caught up in doing things "right" that we forget the whole point is just connecting with people. Sometimes the best conversations come from letting go of the structure and asking what folks actually want to talk about.
