The guy who said audiobooks 'don't count' really got under my skin

I was at my book club meeting last Tuesday and this one dude flat out said listening to an audiobook isn't really reading. I finished 3 audiobooks last month on my commute and felt like I got just as much out of them as the print version. Do you think audiobooks count as reading or not?

Jumping right in because @michael_jenkins39 is totally right about that zoning out thing. Ive done the same plenty of times. But listen, audiobooks definitely count. Your brain is still processing the story, the characters, the plot twists. Its just a different way of getting the same information. Some people learn by reading, some by hearing. The dude at your book club sounds like a snob honestly.
