Unpopular opinion: audiobooks are not 'reading' and my book club fight proved it
My book club in Austin spent an hour arguing this last month. Half of us say listening to the 12-hour audiobook of Project Hail Mary counts the same as reading the print version. The other half says it's a different experience and shouldn't qualify for discussion. The guy who listened said he got more detail because he could speed it up to 1.5x, but the rest of us missed page numbers for reference. Which side do you land on for book club credit?

Listening doesn't count. You're not actually reading.

Wait, doesn't listening force you to process the words in real time without skipping back? @mason_webb54 I'd argue it's actually harder than reading because you can't reread a sentence if you zone out.
