Vent: Spent $60 on a fancy book light that broke in two weeks
I bought this sleek clip-on book light for our evening book club discussions, thinking it would save my eyes from straining. It worked great for two meetings, then the hinge snapped clean off last night during chapter 5. Has anyone else had bad luck with those expensive lights over the cheap kind?

Those expensive ones are just overengineered junk lol.

Depends on the brand honestly. Some of those $400 knives are just paying for the name and fancy packaging. But cheap ones can be way worse with blades that won't hold an edge for a week.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time my cousin spent $300 on a "chef's knife" and used it to open a can of paint! The blade chipped so bad it looked like a saw after.
