Why I stopped using page flags for marking favorite passages
I used to go through a pack of those sticky flags every month, marking lines I thought were important. Then at a book club meetup in Austin last year, someone asked me if I actually ever went back and read those flagged pages. I realized I never did. Now I just snap a photo of the page with my phone or type the line into a notes app. My copy of the book stays way cleaner and I actually revisit the quotes more often. Has anyone else ditched a reading habit after realizing it was pointless?

Honestly I read somewhere that we forget most stuff we mark anyway so it makes sense to save it digital instead.

YES. I've wasted so much paper highlighting stuff. Then I flip back and literally have no clue what I was thinking. Digital hoarding is way easier.
