Found my old annotated copy of Dune at a thrift shop in Boise
I was digging through a bin of paperbacks last Saturday and there it was, my 1990 copy with all my margin notes in blue pen. Funny thing is, I don't remember giving it away, but someone else owned it and underlined different parts than me, like the lines about fear and survival. Made me think about how the same book hits different people at different times in their life. Anyone else ever run into a book they used to own out in the wild, and what did you notice about the other person's notes or highlights?

Used to think margin notes were just noise, but seeing a stranger's underlines in my old book made me re-read those lines like they were new. Turns out that copy had more to teach me secondhand than it ever did firsthand.
