I finally broke down and bought a tablet for reading, worth every penny
I used to be the person who swore by paperbacks, but after hauling 4 books on a trip to Portland and only finishing one, I gave in. Spent $180 on a basic e-reader last month and it paid for itself already with library loans. The backlight means I can read in bed without waking my girlfriend, and the battery lasts two weeks easy. Anyone else switch from physical books and never look back, or am I the only convert here?

Is it just me, or does the whole ritual of a physical book matter more than convenience? I mean, I get the backlight and the battery life, that's a real win. But flipping pages and seeing how far you've gotten is part of the feeling for me. Idk, maybe I'm old school, but I still like grabbing a book off the shelf and having it feel like an object, not a screen. I'll stick with paperbacks even if it means packing lighter.
