I finally tried the little free library down the street instead of buying new paperbacks
Grabbed a beat-up copy of a Carl Hiaasen book from the one on Oak Street last week and it was honestly more fun than anything I ordered online in months, mostly because a stranger had scribbled notes in the margins. Anyone else get weirdly attached to a swapped book just because of the handwriting inside?
Feels like the same reason I love used bookstores, the book has a little history you can't get from a fresh one. Finding someone's random thoughts in the margins makes it feel like you're reading along with them.
