Bought a $140 finishing press and it made my corners so much cleaner

I've been gluing book cloth flat for two years and always struggled with crisp corners on hardcovers. Finally picked up a proper finishing press from a local shop in Portland and the difference is night and day. Corners sit tight, no more bubbles. Worth every penny for anyone doing case binding. Has anyone else found a cheap alternative that works as well?

Three years with a bone folder and a prayer, then I watched a friend's press make corners like it was cheating. My cheap alternative was a stack of heavy books and a lot of swearing, which worked about half as well.
