Just finished my 50th full-leather binding and realized I've used over 2 miles of linen thread.

It's wild to think about all those stitches adding up, and it made me wonder what other small, repetitive tasks in your process have a surprisingly big cumulative number.

Yeah, I always figured the little stuff didn't count for much. Then I saw @craig.john's question and started adding up my own sanding belts. Turns out I go through about 300 linear feet of abrasive material a year just on small finishing work. It really makes you see the scale of tiny, repeated actions.

That "surprisingly big cumulative number" thing hits different now. I used to think my wire cuts were just small jobs, but adding up all the feet of scrap copper I recycle each year was a real eye opener. It's crazy how the little things stack up.
