Just found out bookcloth can be made from old t-shirts
Saw a video where a guy in Portland pressed a bunch of scrap cotton tees into bookcloth with some heat and glue. Has anyone else tried repurposing old clothes instead of buying it?

The dude in Portland used an iron set to "cotton" with a sheet of baking parchment as a buffer, right? I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that the glue didn't just soak through and ruin the shirt.

That parchment trick works because the iron's heat activates the glue without pressing it straight through the fabric's weave.
