My glue pot disaster after trying desk yoga for bookbinding aches

Lately my shoulders got sore from hunching over texts all day. I read about desk yoga and thought I'd do some simple moves between folding signatures. During a big stretch, my elbow hit the glue pot sitting on the edge of the table. It tipped over and spread a sticky river right across my half-finished cover. I spent the next hour picking threads and paper bits out of the mess. Now I do my stretches in the hallway before I even touch the book. Lesson learned about keeping wellness routines separate from the workbench.

Actually, blending small stretches into my bookbinding routine has been a game changer for my posture. In my experience, doing quick shoulder rolls right at the table helps, but I always slide the glue pot well back from the edge first. That simple habit of clearing a safe zone lets me move without disaster. Your mileage may vary, but for me, those micro-breaks at the bench beat walking away.

Totally feel you on forgetting to move when you're in the zone. That safe zone tip is smart for stopping a tense hunch.

Yeah, that "safe zone" idea is basically what my physical therapist told me last month.
