My trusty old bone folder snapped clean in half last Tuesday

I was working on a leather cover for a journal, trying to get a crisp fold along the spine. It just gave way with a quiet crack. That folder was a gift from my teacher back in 2008, so it felt like losing a friend. I had to finish the job with the back of a spoon, which worked but wasn't the same. Has anyone found a good, solid replacement that won't break after a decade of use?

Bone folders aren't for leather, right?

My friend ruined a nice leather journal using a bone folder last year. The bone left these weird shiny marks that wouldn't come out. She had to switch to a plastic one for any future leather projects.

Didn't I read somewhere that bone folders are mostly for paper? Like tara_patel said, maybe a teflon folder would last longer on leather.
