Showerthought: I blew $60 on a round knife that dulled in a week, stick with the $18 one
Honestly, I saw a video of a guy using a fancy round head knife and thought it would fix my edge trimming. I dropped $60 on one from a supply shop in Portland, and after cutting maybe 15 signatures of cheap paper, it was pulling instead of slicing. My old $18 paring knife from the hardware store still cuts cleaner after 3 months of use. I sharpened that new one twice in 7 days just to keep it working, which felt like a bad joke. Has anyone else found a cheap blade that actually holds up, or am I just sharpening wrong?
