Spent 3 hours trying to fix a loose hinge before realizing it was just the screw

I was working on a leather journal cover and kept fussing with the hinge pin because it felt wobbly. Took me three entire evenings to figure out that the brass screw was only hand tight from the factory. Once I snugged it down with a small flathead, the whole thing locked up solid. Has anyone else chased a problem for way too long only to find it was something that simple?
