Watched a guy in Baltimore fix a cracked spine with wheat paste and a hair dryer
He did it at the book arts fair on Saturday and it held up better than the PVA I've been using for 6 years. Anyone else switch to wheat paste for repairs or am I late to this?
Ha, wheat paste is great until the humidity comes back and that spine goes soft on you. PVA has held up for a reason, and a hair dryer fix at a fair is one thing but a few years of use is another. I would keep your old glue around till the wheat paste proves itself over time.
