Chose the fiddle leaf fig over the monstera, two months later I'm not sorry
When I moved into my new place in Portland I had $40 for one plant, so I had to pick between a big monstera at the nursery and a smaller fiddle leaf fig. I went with the fiddle because the leaves looked more dramatic by the window, even though everyone warned me they're finicky. Two months in it dropped three leaves after I overwatered it once, but I backed off and now it's pushing out a new leaf this week. The monstera would've been easier, sure, but I like having something that keeps me on my toes. Anyone else gamble on a fussier plant and end up glad they did?

Did you almost ditch it after those leaves dropped and the guilt kicked in?
