Hitting 500 houseplants made me question the whole collection mindset
I passed the 500 mark on my indoor plants last month and it honestly felt like a chore, not a win. Everyone talks about growing their collection, but nobody mentions the weekly watering rotation that eats 3 hours and the shelf space that keeps shrinking. Am I the only one who thinks we should normalize giving plants away once you hit a certain count?

Cut my collection down to ~80 last spring and it's been so liberating. I started a little plant swap group with some neighbors, we trade cuttings and give away the ones that are just taking up space. Now I actually enjoy my plants again instead of seeing them as a to-do list item.
