Honestly, I just dropped $80 on a 'rare' philodendron cutting that turned out to be a common pothos

The seller swore it was a 'mint variegated' specimen, but the first new leaf came in solid green. Anyone know a trustworthy seller for actual rare aroids?

Oh man, that's the worst feeling! I got burned last year on what was supposed to be a variegated monstera node. Paid a ton and it just pushed out a regular old leaf. Makes you want to just give up on buying online, doesn't it? I've had good luck with the shop Green Canopy since then, they send real photos of the exact plant.

Ugh, that's such a scam, how do people sleep at night? I mean, paying that much for a specific plant just to get tricked feels awful. It really does make sticking to local shops seem safer.

That's a huge bummer, sorry that happened to you. What did the seller say when you told them?
