My monstera pot cracked after 3 months of careful watering
I thought I had watering down perfect. Hit it every 7 days like clockwork. Then Tuesday I picked up the pot and felt water drip down my leg. Looked at the bottom and a hairline crack had formed along the drainage hole. Must have been from the cold window at night in Chicago. Has anyone else had ceramic pots fail on them like this or do I just pick bad ones?

Nah, that's just bad luck with the pot honestly.

Glazed pots tend to hold moisture longer so they can crack in cold weather if water gets trapped. Terracotta is more porous and lets water evaporate, which usually makes it more forgiving in freeze-thaw cycles. Been there myself with a glazed pot splitting after one hard frost.
