My monstera was a sad droopy mess until I moved it 3 feet from the window
Honestly I had this monstera for 8 months and it was just surviving, not thriving, with maybe one new leaf the whole time. I read somewhere that they want bright indirect light, so I had it tucked in this dark corner of my apartment thinking I was doing it a favor. Last month I got frustrated and just dragged the pot over to sit 3 feet from my south facing window. Two weeks later it pushed out two new leaves and one of them already has fenestrations. Has anyone else had a plant completely change once you moved it to a different spot?
I don't buy the light thing being the whole story. Two new leaves in two weeks after 8 months of nothing sounds more like the plant was already fixing to grow and you just happened to move it at the right time. Plants go through cycles. Roots take forever to fill a pot, then boom, top growth. Could've been the season too, spring light gets stronger everywhere, not just 3 feet from your window. I had a pothos that sat in the same spot for a year doing nothing, then went nuts in June without me touching it. Almost moved it twice and glad I didn't, would've blamed the wrong thing.
