My peace lily flipped over in the car on the way home from the nursery

I was driving back from Green Thumb Gardens in Austin with a giant peace lily on the passenger seat, hit a curb and the whole pot dumped sideways. Dirt went everywhere in my car, leaves were all bent, and I had to pull over and scoop it back in with my bare hands. Has anyone else tried to transport a big plant in a car and had it end in a mess like this?

Used to think a passenger seat was fine for a big plant. Learned my lesson the hard way just like you did.

Thought I was being clever (I was not) and ended up with dirt in my lap.

Always figured the real risk is forgetting you drove a manual and trying to shift with a potted monstera in the way. That's a lesson you only learn once. Still find bits of potting soil in the cup holder from last spring. Honestly the passenger seat thing is a trap because it seems fine until you take a sharp turn. Seatbelt doesn't really help either, just cinches the pot against the seatback. Should probably just buy smaller plants.
