Vent: My friend called my propagation station 'plant hoarding'

Had a conversation with my buddy Dave last week where he said I was just hoarding plants because I have 12 cuttings in water jars on my kitchen counter... He started going on about how it's not real gardening if you're just sticking stems in cups. It hit different because he's usually the one who gets my hobby, and I realized he doesn't see the patience in waiting for roots to form. Anyone else have friends who don't get the slow process of propagation?

Did Dave think you were just shoving sticks in water with zero effort or something? Propagation takes actual patience and a little faith that those stems are going to do their thing under the surface. Waiting weeks just to see a tiny nub of a root pop out is way more involved than just buying a full plant from the store. It's about watching life happen slowly, not instant gratification from a greenhouse shelf. Plus it saves money and lets you share plants with other people, which is way more meaningful than Dave's take might suggest.

It's just plants in cups. Maybe chill a bit?
