Foreman told me a good bricklayer lays about 500 bricks a day, and I had to go count mine after work
I looked it up after he said it and the old rule of thumb for a standard 8 inch block is way lower, like 120 to 150 a day for one guy. So I timed myself last Thursday on a garage wall in Modesto and hit 190 block before lunch, which honestly felt awful by the end. Now I'm wondering if the whole 500 number is just for brick and not block, or if my foreman was messing with me. Anyone know where that number actually comes from?
