I thought a 3/8 inch joint was always the right call for a garden wall
My foreman in Denver last month made me redo a section with 1/2 inch, saying the freeze-thaw cycle needs the extra mortar. Anyone else adjust joint size for the weather where they are?

Switched to half inch up north, works better.

Oh, the classic "my way or the highway" foreman move. Mine once made me re-point an entire patio because he didn't like the shade of gray. Turns out his wife just picked a different color at the store.
