Last Tuesday was a brick job from hell, but the mortar mix saved it

We had a retaining wall job in Portland, 40 feet long, and the ground was wetter than we thought. The footing kept shifting, so we had to pour extra concrete on the fly, that ate up 2 hours. Then my trowel hand cramped up around noon, felt like a claw. Switched to a smaller trowel and slowed down, but the mortar held up perfect, no slumping even in the damp. We got the whole first course level by 4 pm, which was a small win. Ever had a day where one mix just saves your whole schedule?
