Lost a full day to a bad mortar mix last Tuesday

I mixed a batch at 7am for a retaining wall in Fresno and it never set right, stayed soft all day. By noon I had to tear out 40 feet of block and start over, the sand I grabbed from that old pile was full of clay dust. Turns out the supplier swapped my regular sand for a cheaper load without saying anything. Anyone else had to check every delivery after getting burned like this?
