Picked a trowel based on handle feel instead of name brand

I was at a supply shop in Phoenix last month and had to decide between a Marshalltown and a knockoff with a rubber grip that just felt better in my hand. Grabbed the cheap one, and after a week of pointing and repointing I'm wondering if I made a mistake or if comfort is actually way more important than the name on the blade. Anyone else ever gone against the grain on tool choice and regretted it or had it work out fine?

Shook my head at a $200 name brand till I held one of those mystery spades at a garage sale. @michael_jenkins39 your buddy learning the hard way is pretty funny honestly. Sometimes the steel just feels right in your hand and that's all that matters.
