That $60 mortar mixer paddle burned me bad

I picked up one of those cheap paddle mixers from the hardware store downtown last month, figured it would save me some arm work on a backyard wall I was doing... It stripped out after mixing just 3 bags of Type S, totally locked up and smoked. Has anybody else had luck with the mid-range ones or am I better off just sticking to the hoe and tub?

Ngl, three bags is pretty weak but these cheap tools are basically disposable these days. Maybe you just got a dud and should try swapping it for another one before writing off all of them.

Exactly, even swapping might just get you the same crappy result a few weeks later.

Hard disagree honestly. Three bags out of a cheap tool is pretty solid if you're not running a commercial operation. Plus swapping might just get you the same thing three weeks later.
