Wow, a decade is a crazy long time for a repair. What kind of materials were you waiting on that took so many years to finally show up? Were they custom pieces you could only get from one place?

Man, that's wild! I've had things on order for months that felt like forever, so a decade is just mind-blowing. In my experience, it's often specialty stuff like custom made parts or old electronics you can't find anymore. I waited three years once for a replacement motor for a vintage fan, and the company had to make it from scratch. You're at the mercy of suppliers who might not see the rush. It really shows how tricky even simple repairs can get.

Used to think slow jobs were just poor planning. Hearing about the wait for parts changes that view. Some things really can't be rushed.
