Back in 2019 I thought dried beans were a huge pain to deal with
I finally tried the 'quick soak' method where you boil them for 2 minutes then let them sit for an hour, and it cut my prep time in half. Anyone else have a better hack for cheap protein staples?

Oh nice, that quick soak trick is a game changer! I've also started cooking a huge batch in my slow cooker on Sundays, then freezing portions. Makes weeknight dinners so much easier.

Totally agree about batch cooking! Read somewhere that freezing beans in their cooking liquid helps keep them from drying out. Might be worth a try with your next slow cooker batch.

Heard freezing them flat in a ziploc bag saves a ton of freezer space too.
