Finally hit my goal of a $40 weekly grocery bill
Had to choose between buying fresh chicken or a whole frozen bird, and I went with the frozen one for half the price. It took more prep work, but I got three meals out of it instead of just one. What's your best 'more work for less money' swap that actually paid off?

Nice... the frozen bird is always the move. I started buying whole pork loins and cutting my own chops... takes ten minutes and saves a ton.

@the_henry changed my mind on that, honestly.

My local butcher sells whole pork loins for about two bucks a pound less than pre-cut chops. I use a sharp chef's knife and a cheap cutting board, just slice them about an inch thick. You get way more consistent chops than the store, and the trimmings are perfect for stir fry. It feels like a small win every time I do it.
